When to Visit the Emergency Department

Not every medical issue requires an emergency visit β€” but some absolutely do. Know the warning signs that demand immediate attention.

Our Emergency Department is available 24/7 for life-threatening and urgent medical conditions. Knowing when to come in can save precious time.

Go to Emergency Immediately If You Have

  • Chest pain, pressure, or tightness β€” especially radiating to the arm or jaw
  • Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath
  • Signs of stroke: sudden numbness, confusion, vision problems, or severe headache
  • Severe abdominal pain
  • Major trauma or injury
  • Unconsciousness or unresponsiveness
  • Severe allergic reaction (anaphylaxis)
  • High fever with stiff neck, rash, or confusion
  • Suspected poisoning or drug overdose

For Non-Emergency Issues

For minor illnesses like cold, mild fever, or routine check-ups, please book an OPD appointment to avoid unnecessary waiting times in the emergency department.

When in Doubt

Call our helpline first. Our triage nurse can advise you on the urgency of your situation and whether you need to come in immediately or can wait for an appointment.
