Surgical Services

Advanced surgical care with modular OTs, laparoscopic & robotic-assisted procedures, and expert anaesthesia teams.

1 About This Service

Our Surgical Department offers a full spectrum of elective, emergency, and minimally invasive surgical procedures across specialties including General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Cardiothoracic Surgery, Neurosurgery, Urology, Gynaecology, and more.

We operate five fully-equipped modular Operation Theatres (OTs) with laminar air-flow, integrated imaging, and advanced anaesthesia workstations. Our team of board-certified surgeons and anaesthesiologists follow international safety protocols including WHO Surgical Safety Checklists for every procedure.

Minimally invasive techniques — laparoscopy, arthroscopy, endoscopy, and image-guided procedures — are available for most eligible cases, resulting in smaller incisions, less pain, and faster recovery.

2 How It Works

1

Pre-Op Consultation

Your surgeon reviews investigations, explains the procedure, risks, and alternatives. Informed consent is obtained.

20–40 min
2

Pre-Op Workup

Blood tests, ECG, anaesthesia fitness, chest X-ray, and any procedure-specific imaging are completed 24–48 hours before surgery.

3

Pre-Op Fasting & Preparation

You will be instructed to fast for 6–8 hours. Skin prep, IV line placement, and consent verification occur on the morning of surgery.

Overnight / Morning
4

Surgery

The procedure is performed in a sterile modular OT by your surgical team. Duration varies from 30 minutes to several hours.

5

Recovery Room

After surgery, you are transferred to the Post-Anaesthesia Care Unit (PACU) for close monitoring until you are fully awake and stable.

1–4 hours
6

Post-Op Care & Discharge

Day surgeries are discharged same day. Major surgeries involve ward or ICU step-down. A detailed post-op plan and wound care instructions are provided.

Day surgeries (same-day discharge) are suitable for low-to-medium complexity laparoscopic and endoscopic procedures in fit patients. Your surgeon will assess eligibility at the pre-op consultation.
A designated comfortable family waiting area is located on the OT floor. Staff provide updates at key milestones. After surgery, your surgeon will speak directly to the family.
